About Lori

Lori grew up in Melbourne, Florida.  She graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a degree in Fashion Merchandising.  After completing her education, she returned to Florida where she served as a Fashion Consultant and Special Events Coordinator for Burdines.

After three years climbing the career ladder, and in obedience to God’s voice, she felt led to leave Burdines accepting the position as administrator for the Jay Strack Evangelistic Association.  Six months later, the Lord rewarded her obedience and sacrifice.  God gave Lori the desires of her heart when she was swept off her feet by Bobby Apon—the man of her dreams.

Bobby and Lori were married and settled in Atlanta, Georgia.  Immediately, her philosophy to trust and obey came to the forefront as God began to bless them with children.  Each time, Lori chose to trust God at His Word, “Children are a gift of the Lord, happy is the man whose quiver is full.”  In fact as Lori trusted, God filled her quiver with EIGHT precious children.  Lori always welcomed the Lord’s gifts as “people” sent into this world for a high calling.

Because of her experience, God gave Lori a new perspective.  When the policeman knocked on her door to report his death, Grace and Peace knocked as well, entering the Apon family’s lives in a tangible way.  Lori says, “Grace and divine inspiration directed and carried me as I told this life-changing news to my children, ‘You have a new daddy,’ I shared with quivering confidence.’”  According to Lori, the peace that surpasses all understanding planted its seed deep into their hearts that day.  “Your daddy is gone—dead, but God will be your Father because He promises to be a Father to the fatherless,” said the grieving mom.  “Immediately God moved into our lives in His rightful, and perhaps even His favorite position, as “Father to the fatherless and Husband to the widow.’”

Lori’s passion is to encourage others to redirect the focus from natural to the supernatural knowing that often this takes T.I.M.E. ~ Trusting In the Mystery of Eternity.

Lori’s victory in tragedy has brought her family to the attention of many, including:
Dr. James Dobson, Joni Erickson, James Robison with Life Today, Dr. Charles Stanley, and Dr. Johnny Hunt.  Through suffering, she has been given a platform in which to share how God wants to work powerfully in difficult situations.  Her positive outlook comes from God and is contagious as the Holy Spirit works through her to encourage and challenge many women.  She invites all to accept the difficult events in their lives as God working ~ for their good and His glory.
